Bath Oil with Castor Oil And Pimento Oil (4oz / 118ml)

Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Bush Bath Oil not only contains castor oil. It is a blend of kelp, chlorophyll and, of course, red pimento oil. The chlorophyll is active in deodorizing the body while the kelp contributes to the strength and suppleness of hair, nails and skin. The pimento oil stimulates blood circulation, opens the pores, clears the airways for relaxed breathing and can be used when muscles are tired to relieve stress at the end of a long, hard day.

Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Bath Oil with castor and pimento oil helps you to relax and overcome stress, gives you soft, glowing skin and promotes flexibility in muscles and joints. It can be used as a fragrant addition to a bath so that you can lay back and soak in its revivifying oils, or as a refreshing body wash in the shower.

Tropic Isle Living products revive the traditions of bathing in the oil of the castor plant which go all the way back to Ancient Egypt and were transported to Jamaica during the era of slavery. Just as various leaves and oils were added to the castor bean to make cosmetic unguents in those times, Tropic Isle Living products do exactly the same thing today.

Details Bath Oil with Castor Oil And Pimento Oil (4oz / 118ml)

The castor oil plant (Agnus castis) is a fast-growing evergreen with a woody stem that can grow up to 13 metres. It flourishes in tropical climates, although it can grow to smaller sizes in temperate regions. Its fruit, which has the common nickname 'miracle bean', is shaped rather like a pulse (though it is not in fact a leguminous crop) and is the source of Jamaican castor oil.

There are two ways to collect the oil after the 'beans' are flattened. The cold-press method extracts the oil by pressing the beans without heating them. Our method involves slow heating of the beans, a technique that requires skill if the resulting oil is to be good. High quality castor oil has a pleasing light brown to dark brown colour as well as a tell-tale 'burnt' aroma.
